When people ask me what I do, it's really hard not to blurt out "I have a lot of fun making dope content!” I hear myself saying it, but then I say something more couth.
Since leaving my career as a local TV news reporter, I made a promise to myself: if I’m not enjoying what I do, I won’t do it. That philosophy led me all over the world exploring storytelling across various mediums and genres, and it’s been a thrilling ride.
I’ve worked with MTV,VH1, BET, and Revolt, producing and directing short-form lifestyle and music content. I’ve developed and directed branded content series for Chevy, Coca-Cola, and New Amsterdam Vodka. I’ve worked as a showrunner on series for iONE Digital and Centric, focusing on Black culture. At TBWA\Chiat\Day, I co-founded and ran Backslash, the agency’s cultural insight studio, where we created trend-driven videos and helped TBWA earn recognition as Fast Company’s Most Innovative Agency in 2019 and 2020; I also served as in-house creative and video director. And at Maximum Effort, Ryan Reynolds' agency, I got to write some fun commercial spots with the team.
I’ve been performing stand-up for years, ran the writer’s room for Fox’s Top 30 (a news show with comedians), and wrote on several hidden camera pilots. I also worked on an unscripted Proctor & Gamble branded show on Peacock with Kevin Hart and Roy Wood Jr. Currently, I’m shopping a scripted comedy pilot I created and directed.
